Far from the busy glamour of the Mediterranean yachting season or the cool sophistication of the Hamptons, lies Alaska. For something different this summer, return to nature with a luxury crewed yacht charter through the immense and silent vistas of the North American frontier. On your Alaska yacht charter, cruise slowly through perfect archipelagos shadowed by vast snow-capped mountains. Paddle a kayak through fields of icebergs of a startling blue, carved by wind and water into bizarre and beautiful shapes. Power quietly up fjords to the base of a glacier, where you might see a slab of ice as big as a 20-storey building calve off, plunging into the deep waters and creating great waves. Each turn of the yacht, each turn of the forest path, Alaska offers another view of aching beauty. Anchor the yacht in unnamed coves of cold green water or aquamarine blue, the smell of pine and cypress trees cool in the air. Curl up and read a book in the sky lounge with a hot chocolate or whisky after a day of hiking exertion, as the mists float down from the mountains and hover eerie over the water, the midnight sun finally paling into the few hours of darkness. Take a seaplane right from the swim platform to high above the fjords and cliffs, looking down on the magnificent, quiet landscape and your yacht sitting in a bay far below, dwarfed by its surroundings.
